Russia’s Atomstroyexport: Egypt Will Get Best, Safest Nuclear Power Plant

In a statement to the “Nile News” satellite channel, Sonin said that   Egypt will not only get a nuclear power plant, but she will also get the best and safest nuclear power plant equipped with the latest technology that is already operating successfully in Russia and abroad.

He praised “Russian-Egyptian cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, which was embodied in the Dabaa project, which aims to support and develop the Egyptian economy.”

Sonin congratulated Egypt and her people on the occasion of the first nuclear energy power plant.

He explained that “nuclear cooperation between Russia and Egypt began in 2015 with the signing of a cooperation agreement to build small research reactors, which paved the way for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Egypt.”

The Russian official expressed his happiness to participate in the development of the first nuclear power plant in Egypt, the “Dabaa plant” in Marsa  Matrouh Governorate.

He added that the Russian company is working in full swing with its Egyptian partners to make the dream a reality.

He pointed to the start of preparations for the site of the future nuclear power plant, as well as the readiness of the seaport, which will soon receive large and heavy equipment from Russia to start implementing the Egyptian nuclear energy project.

It is worth noting that  “Atomstroyexport” represents the engineering branch of the Russian state corporation “Rosatom” for research and construction of reactors and atomic energy.
