Today, 10/01/2022, the Egyptian delegation participated in Expo 2020 Dubai hosted by United Arab Emirates by holding a symposium on “Egypt’s Nuclear Program to Establish Nuclear Power Plants” under the patronage of the Egyptian Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA).The first session was on “The Egyptian nuclear program overview and its effect on the Egyptian economy”. The second session was on “Safety and security considerations for El-Dabaa NPP and its impact on the public acceptance”.
In line with the distinguished Egypt-UAE partnership in different aspects including the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, the NPPA is represented by a high profile delegation led by Dr. Amged El-Wakeel, NPPA Chairman. The event witnessed the presence of high profile delegations representing regional, international and local organizations including the Arab Atomic Energy Authority (AAEA), the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and the Chairman of the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA). The event also witnessed the presence of Emirates high-profile delegation led by Eng. Mohamed El-Hamdy, The CEO of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC).
NPPA participation is part of the diverse and distinct participation of Egypt in the current edition of EXPO 2020 Dubai which is worthy of Egypt’s status and heavy weight regionally and globally, as well as its ancient history. Egypt has a unique pavilion to showcase its heritage and vision for changing the present and foreseeing the future.
